On the evening of April 4th, the Common Council of the City of Cudahy approved an additional four year contract with Refrigerant Depot for Appliance Recycling.  For the past 8 years, the city has been working with Refrigerant Depot on the collection of items containing of refrigerants and collection of appliances.  Residents can bring the appropriate items to the city’s recycling center at 5631 S. Pennsylvania Avenue to have them disposed free of charge.

Examples of items include air conditioners, dehumidifiers, dishwashers, dryers, washers, microwaves, freezers, ovens / ranges, water coolers, stoves, water heaters.  Recycling and disposal of white goods must be in full compliance with the laws and statues of the State of Wisconsin and applicable local ordinances.

Residents using this service are not required to use a drop-off pass to dispose of these items.  A designated area is available for disposal at the transfer site.

In 2017, residents dropped off 260 appliances with 34% being dehumidifiers, 23% microwaves, and 17% being refrigerators.  If you have questions on what kinds of items can be dropped off, please contact the City of Cudahy Department of Public Works at 414-769-2216.
